This is an automatic fix for those who need to adjust brightness each time they open the game, just do the following:
Automatic Brightness Fix (No more adjusting brightness)No more adjusting brightness each time you open your game
1. Create a shortcut for CoDMP.exe
2. Right click on the shourtcut, and choose properties
3. Go to "Shortcut" tab
4. Go to the end of the "Target" line, press space and paste the following: +toggleconsole +r_gamma 0.5 +wait 2 +r_gamma 1.0 +toggleconsole
So the "Target" line should look like that (ofc the game path will be different on each computer):
"C:\Program Files\Call of Duty\CoDMP.exe" +toggleconsole +r_gamma 0.5 +wait 2 +r_gamma 1.0 +toggleconsole
5. Press Apply, and then press OK
If you want the game to be darker or brighter, just change "r_gamma 1.0" to the value you desire, 1.1 for example for brighter game, or 0.9 for example for darker game.
Now each time you open the game it will automatically set the desired brightness for you.
Question: I set my game brightness to "r_gamma 1.0" and it works, but when I try to make the game even brighter by setting it to 1.1 and above, it dosent work, why is that?
Answer: To solve this, right click on your CoDMP.exe and choose properties, choose "Compatibility" tab and tick the option called "Run this program in compatibily mode for:" and choose Windows XP (Service Pack 3)
Now you should be able to set brightness to a higher value than "r_gamma 1.0"
Personally I use: r_gamma 1.1
+toggleconsole +r_gamma 0.5 +wait 2 +r_gamma 1.1 +toggleconsole
